Everest Base Camp
You asked, we provided. Everest Base Camp is our newest trip, taking you to new heights. The Everest Base Camp trek is probably one of the most famous in the world, and one that every keen trekker should consider doing at some point in their lives. The sheer thrill and sense of achievement you experience as you arrive at the Base Camp is hard to equal. We’ll be working with Make A Wish Foundation and Choose A Challenge on this adventure and can’t wait to launch this amazing new trip!
Kilimanjaro Summit Trek
One of our flagship trips, the Kilimanjaro Trek remains just as popular as ever. Rising majestically from the savannah lands of northern Tanzania, Kilimanjaro soars to a chilling 5,895m high peak, well above the cloud line. It’s the highest mountain in Africa and the largest free-standing mountain in the world; climbing Kilimanjaro will be one of your all time great achievements. This year, we’ll be running this trip on behalf of The Children’s Society and will again be using Choose A Challenge.
Along with Kilimanjaro, our Inca Trek to Machu Picchu is one of our biggest trips. Follow in the footsteps of Spanish explorers as you cross the high Peruvian Andes in search of Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Inca. The city is set upon a ridge over the Urubamba Valley, deep within the jungle-covered mountains north west of Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. We’re pleased to continue working with Action Against Hunger and Choose A Challenge on this adventure.
Our brand new challenge takes you to the Arctic circle in Swedish Lapland. Here you will be trained on arctic survival before you head out to make your way into the wilderness. This challenge will include snow shoeing, dog sledding, igloo building and wilderness camping to push you to your limits. It will be an incredible experience for you to lead the exclusive first trip out into the Arctic. This trip is being spearheaded by Breast Cancer Now and Choose and Challenge (it’s so new, we don’t have a website link to the challenge for you yet. Email email@example.com for more information).
Romania Volunteering Project
More international volunteering is another thing you asked for and we’re really happy to offer our members the chance to volunteer in Romania for three weeks. Volunteering activities include working in schools and care homes, teaching English as well as running sport and art activities. You could also help renovate homes and facilities around the schools. Throughout the trip you will also have the opportunity to experience the best Romania has to offer, check out the beautiful town of Brasov or explore Europe’s most beautiful landscapes. This trip is run by Challenges Abroad and all fundraising for this trip goes towards the FutureSense Foundation.
With the popularity of this year’s Athens Marathons, we’re excited to offer another marathon for 2016/17. Next year, we’ll be running for Meningitis Research Foundation in the stunning Hungarian capital of Budapest! After you complete the marathon, you’ll have the rest of the weekend to discover the city, both the history and the culture and then the amazing night life; Budapest is home to one of Forbes magazine’s top parties in the world, hosted in the city’s famous outdoor thermal baths.
London to Paris Bike Ride
One of our most popular challenges, the London to Paris Bike Ride has one of the most achievable fundraising targets. Run by Breast Cancer Now as a solely student event, you’ll ride with hundreds of students from other universities for the three day challenge, ending your cycle at the iconic Eiffel Tower.
